Fleur Onrust

Fleur Onrust represents clients in matters before municipalities, provincial authorities, district courts and the Dutch Administrative High Court and acts as a legal advisor for corporations, large foundations and governmental bodies. Fleur is a deputy judge at the District Court of Overijssel for the department of environmental law.

Fleur has extensive experience practicing administrative law with specific expertise on administrative enforcement, regulations. Fleur Onrust is a well-known expert on protected species regulations. Fleur advises corporations and governments where the presence of protected species jeopardizes the advancement of large development projects. Within nature conservation law Fleur is specialized in the protection of Natura 2000 areas and protected species. Fleur Onrust advises and assists companies with permitting procedures.

Within environmental law, Fleur has specific experience with Seveso/Brzo, PGS, mining, REACH, waste, soil, noise, odour, energy, water.

Fleur Onrust lectures on environmental and administrative law topics. She co-authored a book on nature conversation law in 2017 ‘Handboek natuurbescherming’ and is board member of the Kluwer administrative law practice (‘Module bestuursrecht’). Fleur regularly publishes annotations of noteworthy case law to the Environmental Law Online magazine and an annual chronicle on Nature conversation law in the construction law journal. This year, Fleur will contribute to a updated version of the prestigious Handbook on Nature protection Law edited by prof. Backes among others.
