Hanneke Ellerman

Hanneke Ellerman specialises in administrative law and planning and zoning law. She advises and conducts legal proceedings about, as a rule, complex zoning plan and planning procedures for the benefit of commercial and residential property development projects, the transformation and redevelopment of existing buildings as well as the related legal aspects involving the environment and nature conservation. In addition Hanneke has a wide experience in dealing with administrative law enforcement matters and general administrative law issues. Both developers and authorities regularly seek her assistance.

After she had graduated, Hanneke worked for the municipality of Amsterdam in various positions, including at the spatial planning policy department and as head of the Building Control Department in the Amsterdam South urban district. Between June 2000 and June 2013 Hanneke was employed as a lawyer with the Amsterdam law firm of Houthoff Buruma. On 1 June 2013 she joined Six Advocaten.

Hanneke is the author of various publications in her field of expertise about matters such as the coordination and acceleration of planning procedures. She also lectures with OSR (legal training), IBR (Netherlands Institute for Construction Law) and Vu Law Academy, as well as in-house with clients.

In addition to being a member of the Amsterdam supervisory council of the Netherlands Bar Association, Hanneke also sits on the Supervisory Board of Stivoro, is a member of the Board of Appeal of the Stichting Garantiewoning and chairwoman of the appeals commission of the Centre of Amsterdam urban district. She is also a member of various professional organizations, including the Vereniging van Bouwrecht-advocaten (Construction Lawyers Association), the Vereniging voor Bestuursrecht (Administrative Law Association) and the Vereniging voor Milieurecht (Environment Law Association). Hanneke is recommended in the Chambers and Partners legal guide 2018.
